A few hours between check-out and check-in. A practical checklist so nothing is forgotten.
Between one guest leaving and the next arriving there are often only a few hours. Everything has to be done in that window, every time. A fixed routine helps.
The checklist
- Walk through every room and take photos, so there is no discussion about damage afterwards.
- Strip the beds and start the laundry.
- Set aside anything guests left behind.
- Clean, with extra attention to the bathroom, kitchen and floors.
- Make the beds with fresh linen and put out clean towels.
- Refill soap, toilet paper, coffee and the other basics.
- Take out the rubbish and check the bins schedule.
- Check heating, lights, wifi and the lock or key box.
- A last look around, as if you were the guest.
Keep a record
Photos and a short note per changeover make it easy to spot what is wearing out, and give you proof if a damage claim is needed.
